# Links (unit)

In the **Links** tab you can link parties to a unit. This means you can store directly in the unit which people or companies are connected to it or take on certain activities for this unit.

All parties created in Immodio can be linked to a unit.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you want to link a party to an **property**, you can find more information about it [**here**](https://help.immodio.app/en-start/guides-group/properties/property/links-property).
{% endhint %}

#### Examples of shortcuts

A link can be useful for the following parties, for example:

* a **cleaning service** responsible for cleaning the unit,
* a **horticulture business** that maintains the associated green areas of this unit,
* a **notary** who notarized the purchase of the unit,
* a **craftsman** who regularly carries out work in the unit.

In this way, you can see directly in the property which parties are connected to the property.

#### Link parties to a unit

To link a party to the entity, do the following:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
**Open unit**

Open the desired unit for which you would like to store a link and switch to the “**Links**” tab.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

EA list of all the parties you have stored in Immodio opens. Click on the desired party that you would like to link to the unit.

When linking a party, **further information** can be stored. Here you can, for example, describe why the person involved is linked to the unit or what activity he or she undertakes for this unit.

{% hint style="info" %}
This information is stored exclusively for the respective link. It is not stored centrally with the party involved. This means that different information can be stored for the same party depending on the unit.
{% endhint %}

**Example of a shortcut**

One service provider works for several of your units:

* For **Unit A**, the service provider takes over the **garden work** in the garden area assigned to this unit.
* For **Unit B**, the same service provider provides the **additional service**.

The service provider is linked to both units. The corresponding activity is stored in the respective link as further information, but is not stored centrally in the party. In this way, the “further information” originally stored in the party remains stored centrally in the party, while the unit-related activities are documented directly in the respective link.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

#### Link tenant to a unit

parties of type **Tenant** can also be linked to a unit.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Please note that the assignment of a tenant to a rented unit must generally take place via a **tenancy agreement**. Simply linking to the unit does not replace a tenancy agreement.
{% endhint %}

However, an additional link to the unit can make sense if the tenant takes on certain tasks for the property regardless of his tenancy agreement.

z. B. a tenant can:

* undertake the cleaning of the stairwell for this unit or
* have another key for this unit.

In these cases, the tenant can also be linked to the unit and the respective activity can be stored as further information for the link.
