# Furnishing

The terms "furnished apartment" and "partially furnished apartment" are not precisely defined by law. However, this refers to the furnishing of the rented apartment with furnishings by the landlord.

* From **furnished living space** spricht as a rule, if the landlord provides more than half of the furnishings necessary for everyday life. It is crucial that the furniture has been agreed in the rental agreement – not only that furniture is actually available.
* A **partially furnished apartment** liegt if only a few pieces of furniture or furnishings are provided, but which do not make up the majority (usually half) of the necessary equipment for housekeeping. Examples are a fitted kitchen, cupboards or sofa.
