# Rent increase: index rent

In the **"End of index agreement"** field, you can optionally specify when the index rent should expire.\
\
Now the expiration of this agreement, the rent may be calculated according to the [**local comparative rent**](https://help.immodio.app/en-start/guides-group/tenancies/create-a-tenancy-agreement/rent-adjustment/comparative-rent) (§ 558 BGB).

* If no end date is specified, the **index lease agreement will run indefinitely.**
