# Working with bank transactions

This page explains how you can work with your bank transactions in Immodio once they have been linked.

<figure><img src="https://152064692-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMmjaQ7ApHsdO9GrxyEiQ%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-d7db1fa10efd0e99c002f848f7b33d749330a5b3%2Fimage%20(908).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

As soon as a bank account has been linked, Immodio shows the associated bank transactions in the **"Bank accounts"** area. There you can switch between all transactions and individual accounts, filter by year and review individual payments in detail.

## Overview of the bank accounts

On the left you see the linked accounts. If one banking access contains several accounts, they are listed individually.

* Clicking **"All"** shows you the transactions of all linked accounts together.
* Clicking an individual account shows you only the transactions of that account.
* For each account Immodio shows the display name and, where available, the bank name and IBAN.

{% hint style="info" %}
On smaller screens the transaction view opens as its own detail view.
{% endhint %}

## Filtering and updating transactions

Above the transaction list you find the year selection and the update function.

| Function                | Description                                                                                        |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Year selection** | Select the year for which you want to display the bank transactions. |
| **Account selection** | Limits the list to a single account or shows all accounts together. |
| **Search transactions** | Searches the list of transactions according to the filters set, for example year and bank account. |
| **Update transactions** | Retrieves new transactions for the linked banking accesses. |

{% hint style="info" %}
When you first link an account, Immodio loads all available transactions of the banking access. Later you can synchronise the list regularly using **"Update transactions"**.
{% endhint %}

## Information in the transaction list

In the list you can see at a glance whether an item is income or an expense:

* **Income** is shown as an incoming payment in blue.
* **Expenses** are shown as an outgoing payment in red.
* You also see the amount, date, payment reference, entry text and credit institution, insofar as these details were supplied by the bank.

If there are no transactions for the selected year or the selected account, Immodio shows a corresponding message.

## Opening transaction details

<figure><img src="https://152064692-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMmjaQ7ApHsdO9GrxyEiQ%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-f6d666de50d7792f8a64ea1ca4f3a83666f955ec%2Fimage%20(909).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Clicking a bank transaction opens the detail view. There you see the most important payment information together:

* the amount and its classification as income or an expense
* the sender or recipient
* the payment reference
* the booking date and value date
* the entry text
* your own bank details with the financial institution and IBAN or account number
* the contra account with the account holder, IBAN and BIC

If needed, you can copy the IBAN and BIC directly from the detail view.
