# Comments on parties

Comments help you document important notes, arrangements and internal remarks directly with the party concerned. This keeps relevant information stored centrally with the contact, where it can quickly be traced again later.

{% hint style="info" %}
The comment area for parties works on the same principle as comments on [tasks](/en/anleitung/aufgaben/mit-aufgaben-in-immodio-arbeiten.md#documenting-information-chronologically-in-comments) and defects, for example.
{% endhint %}

### Opening a party

1. Open the **"Parties"** menu item.
2. Select the party you want to add a comment to.
3. Open the **"Comments"** tab.

In the comments tab you see all the comments already stored for this party. If no comment exists yet, a corresponding message is shown.

### Adding a comment

1. Click into the **"Add comment"** input field at the bottom.
2. Write your comment.
3. Save the comment using the **"Add"** button.

The input field is fixed at the bottom. This means you can add a new comment directly even in longer comment threads, without having to scroll to the end of the page first.

{% hint style="info" %}
Comments in a party (for example a tenant) serve only for internal documentation and are never transferred to your tenant. If you want to communicate with your tenant, use the **"**[**Communication**](/en/anleitung/kommunikation.md)**"** function for this.
{% endhint %}

### What comments can be used for

Comments are suitable, for example, for:

* notes on conversations with owners, tenants or service providers
* documenting previous addresses or address details
* notes on working with a contact person
* internal remarks that should remain traceable later
* short progress notes when information about a party changes

This creates a central history for the party concerned, without notes having to be spread across separate documents, emails or other systems.

### Deleting a comment

To delete a comment, open the menu to the right of the comment, click **"Delete"** and then confirm the deletion in the dialog.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Once deleted, comments cannot be restored.
