# Links between parties

## **1. Linking parties to parties**

Links between parties are also possible. This lets you represent relationships between people and companies in Immodio.

If you prepare your company's accounting with the "[**Income and expenses**](/en/anleitung/einnahmen-und-ausgaben.md)" function and the [**DATEV export**](/en/anleitung/einnahmen-und-ausgaben.md#datev-export), and entries are created as **private** payments for individual shareholders, linking the individual shareholders as "people" in the company acting as the owner is **mandatory**.

#### Link a person

Click the party and go to the "**People**" tab. Clicking the "Link person" button lets you link people from a list of all parties created in Immodio.

#### Select a person

A list of all the parties you have stored in Immodio opens. From this list, select the party you want to link to the party you are currently editing.

**Select the type**

You can choose from three different types.

If you use the "[**DATEV export**](/en/anleitung/einnahmen-und-ausgaben.md#datev-export)" or also record private payments or receipts of individual shareholders of a company acting as the owner in the "[**Income and expenses**](/en/anleitung/einnahmen-und-ausgaben.md)" function, every shareholder has to be maintained accordingly.

**3.1 DATEV party number and size of the shareholding**

If you link a person to a company as a **shareholder**, you can optionally store the **DATEV party number**.

The party number lets your tax advisor assign a shareholder unambiguously when processing in DATEV.

Stating the DATEV party number is **optional**, but if you use the [**DATEV export**](/en/anleitung/einnahmen-und-ausgaben.md#datev-export) for your tax advisor and have recorded income and expenses paid or received **privately**, maintaining the DATEV party number is **absolutely necessary** to ensure an error-free export to your tax advisor.

The DATEV party number has to match the official number from the assessment declaration and may not be assigned arbitrarily. If you do not know the DATEV party number, please contact your tax advisor.

If you do **not** use the [**DATEV export**](/en/anleitung/einnahmen-und-ausgaben.md#datev-export) for the linked company, the field can remain empty.

**3.2 Size of the shareholding**

Alongside the DATEV party number you can also store the corresponding "size of the shareholding" for the person to be linked.

When linking a party you can store **further information**. Here you can describe, for example, why the party is being linked or what activity they carry out in this context.

This information is stored only for the link concerned. It is not stored centrally with the party. This means different information can be stored for the same party depending on the link.

## **2. Linking parties to properties**

Parties can be linked to **properties and units**; you can find more information about this [**here**](/en/anleitung/immobilien/objekt/verknupfungen-objekt.md#link-a-party).

This lets you see directly on a property which people or companies are connected with it. For example, a cleaning company can be linked to a property if it carries out the stairwell cleaning there, or a tradesperson can be linked to a unit if they regularly carry out work in that unit.

These links create a network of **parties, properties and units** that lets you document connections consistently and trace them quickly when needed.
