# Property-level entries where a change of tenant has already been accounted for

If, for a **property**, step **"**[**2. Settings**](/en/anleitung/betriebskostenabrechnungen/einstellungen-fur-die-bka.md)**"** of the operating cost statement states that a **heating and hot water statement exists** and that a **change of tenant during the year has already been taken into account in that existing statement**, Immodio checks how the relevant entries are assigned. Heat-related entries, for example for heating or hot water, then have to be assigned to the matching **tenancy**.

If the warning shown above appears in step **"3. Relevant entries"** under **"Notes"**, heating- or hot-water-related entries exist for the property at **property level** instead of at **tenancy level**.

In this case Immodio cannot assign the costs unambiguously to the right tenant, because the costs no longer relate to the property as a whole but to a particular period during which a tenant lived in the unit, that is, to a **specific** **tenancy**. Where a tenant changes during the year, assignment to the **tenancy** is therefore important so that the costs can be attributed to the right period of use and thus to the right tenancy.

{% hint style="info" %}
Do **not**, therefore, post these costs to the **property**, but directly to the relevant **tenancy**. To do so, open the entry concerned and adjust the assignment accordingly.
{% endhint %}
