# Existing WEG entries for heating and hot water costs although the property is not a WEG
This note is shown when the property is **not** marked as a WEG in the master data but entries exist for heating and/or hot water costs according to the WEG statement. In this case, check whether the property has been created correctly or whether the entries should instead be assigned to a non-WEG operating cost category.
**The affected entry categories are:**
1. Heating costs **according to the WEG statement**,
2. Hot water costs **according to the WEG statement**,
3. Heating and hot water costs according to the **WEG statement**.
**Choose the following categories instead:**
1. All heating costs including maintenance, excluding repairs (recoverable from tenant)
2. All hot water costs including maintenance, excluding repairs (recoverable from tenant)
3. Heating and hot water (recoverable from tenant)
You can set whether the property is a WEG in the [**basic data of the property**](/en/anleitung/immobilien/objekt/grunddaten-objekt.md).
