# Water and waste water costs at property level in a WEG
This note appears:
1. When the property is marked as a **WEG** and an entry was recorded in the general category "**All costs for drainage, waste water and maintenance, excluding repairs"** instead of in the category **"Water and drainage according to the WEG statement"**, or
2. when the property is marked as a WEG and the correct category **"Water and drainage according to the WEG statement"** was used, but the category was **incorrectly** assigned at **property level** instead of to the **unit** or the **tenancy**.
For WEG properties there is a separate category for these costs. Open the entry concerned under **Income and expenses** and, instead of **"All costs for drainage, waste water and maintenance, excluding repairs"**, select the category **"Water and drainage according to the WEG statement"**.
{% hint style="info" %}
Make sure that under **Assignment** (see images) either **unit** (if there was no change of tenant) or **tenancy** was selected.
