# DATEV Export

With the **DATEV export** you prepare the income and expenditure recorded in Immodio for your **tax adviser**.

In the background Immodio works with the **DATEV industry package for letting and leasing (V+V)**. Your entries are thereby prepared so that your tax adviser can process them as easily as possible and finalise the accounts.

For you as a landlord this means you do not need any accounting knowledge and do not have to deal with DATEV accounts, cost centres or other accounting assignments yourself. Immodio handles this preparation **automatically in the background.**

<details>

<summary><strong>Why is there a DATEV export?</strong></summary>

When you record income and expenditure in Immodio, all you select for an entry under **Income and expenditure** is a suitable **category**.

On the basis of that category Immodio assigns the entry to the appropriate DATEV account in the background. For this Immodio uses the DATEV chart of accounts of the V+V industry package and supplements it with its own intelligent assignment.

Step by step this creates a structured accounting basis without you having to work with DATEV or accounting accounts yourself.

At the end all you have to do is create the **DATEV export** and pass the file generated on to your tax adviser.

> **In short**\
> You record your income and expenditure in Immodio as usual. Immodio prepares the data for DATEV in the background. Your tax adviser can then continue working with the exported data.

<details>

<summary><strong>Why is the DATEV export helpful?</strong></summary>

The DATEV export **considerably** reduces the effort of working with your tax adviser.

Instead of preparing receipts, spreadsheets and entries manually, you record your income and expenditure directly in Immodio. Immodio makes sure this data is prepared suitably for DATEV in the background.

Your tax adviser can therefore continue working faster and in a more structured way. That saves time, reduces queries and makes the ongoing accounting considerably easier.

### Starting the DATEV export

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### **Navigating to "Income and expenditure"**

In the main menu open the **"Income and expenditure"** area and then click the **"DATEV export"** button.

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Selecting the owner and the year

A dialogue opens in which you can prepare the export. Select the owner concerned and the year for which the export to your tax adviser is to be created.

<figure><img src="https://152064692-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FMmjaQ7ApHsdO9GrxyEiQ%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-e70c67a79e62872721c821ca71c2098f1ba4c85f%2Fimage%20(609).png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

By clicking **"Export"** Immodio generates the complete DATEV export for your tax adviser in the background. A **ZIP file** containing the prepared export data is then created automatically.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Passing the export file on to the tax adviser

Forward this ZIP file to your tax adviser.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If possible, do **not** open and edit the CSV files manually before passing them on to your tax adviser. Spreadsheet programs can change the formatting, which can make the import more difficult for your tax adviser.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
