# Rent increase: index-linked rent

In the **"End of the index agreement"** field you can optionally state when the index-linked rent is to expire.\

Once this agreement has expired, the rent can be adjusted in line with the [**local comparative rent**](/en/anleitung/mietverhaltnisse/mietverhaltnis-anlegen/mietanpassung/vergleichsmiete.md) (Section 558 BGB).

* If no end date is given, the **index rent agreement runs indefinitely.**
